Husky Den

PURPOSE

Middle School Success is an innovative program here at Hillside, created to help 7th and 8th graders navigate this new and exciting chapter in their life. The transition from elementary to middle school can be overwhelming. Our mission is to help relieve the stress and make this a successful school year for everyone!

HOW IT WORKS

Here in the Husky Den, we track each student’s academic progress and attendance, calling in those who need some extra one-on-one time. If a student is having issues with classes, teachers, or homework, we are here to help. We’re also here to congratulate successes and guide students through problem solving and goal setting.

There are three members on our team: Christina Leavitt, Ginny Goldberg, and Wesla Smith who are available to assist all students with any school issues that may arise. Each student has a mentor assigned to them personally, but we all work as a team to ensure that anyone can receive help anytime they need it.

We are also available before/after school and during lunch to help with anything a student may need. Forgot to print a paper? No problem. Need some homework help? Come on in. Just need a moment to breathe? We’ve got you covered. No question is too silly, no problem too big. We will do our best to help you get what you need.

GOAL

Our goal is to help keep students on track academically and to help them maintain a sense of enthusiasm for school and learning. Come see us in room 1019. We are here to help you!
